Children see the world differently: curious, free, full of the joy of discovery. Every path becomes a mission, every forest trail an expedition, every puddle an invitation. This is precisely why we develop our children's shoes - so that little adventurers can be out and about safely, comfortably and happily every day.
Children's feet are soft, flexible and growing. They need space, stability and freedom of movement to develop healthily. Our specially shaped kids' lasts provide additional space in the toe area, while flexible soles support natural rolling behaviour - ideal for spring tours, summer days, autumn adventures and winter excursions.
Our new products - developed for a real thirst for adventure
Lightweight. Robust. Comfortable. Our current children's models are made for playgrounds, forest kindergartens, school runs and short tours - wherever the outdoors is part of everyday life.
And when the weather changes? Our kids' models have a waterproof GORE-TEX® membrane that keeps children's feet reliably dry so that the fun outside doesn't depend on the sky.
Small adventures - big experiences
Why LOWA children's shoes?
We develop children's shoes as independent models - not as miniaturised adult versions. This is because children's feet need different solutions: more space in the toe area, flexible soles, a secure grip and lightweight materials. Plus robust designs and weatherproof GORE TEX® membranes that provide protection all year round.
Our shoes accompany little explorers in everything that happens outside.

Children's feet are soft, growing and much more sensitive than those of adults. They bend more quickly, roll more naturally and react more strongly to uneven terrain. This is precisely why normal low shoes are not enough for hiking. A good children's hiking boot protects the foot, provides stability and supports natural rolling behaviour - particularly important in the mountains, in the forest or on uneven ground.
A hiking boot suitable for children needs a flexible sole that flexes well lengthways but is not too rigid crossways. They also need to offer sufficient toe room, as children claw their toes reflexively to keep their balance. A higher shaft stabilises the ankle and prevents frequent twisting. In addition, the low weight and waterproof materials make the shoe suitable for everyday use - from forest kindergarten to hiking.
Whether on the hiking trail, in the forest or on the climbing frame: A suitable, sturdy and waterproof children's hiking boot ensures that little adventurers are safe on the move - and have fun instead of getting tired or unsafe.

It is best to check the size every 2-3 months. Take out the insole and let your child stand on it. There should be room for a child's thumb in front of the big toe. Don't just rely on your child's instincts - many children don't feel pressure straight away because they claw their toes in reflexively. Use our size chart to help you determine the right size. Our guide will help you.

At least every 2-3 months, because children's feet grow in spurts - and often faster than you think.

Children's shoes should be flexible, stable, lightweight and have a child-friendly cut. Sufficient toe room, natural rolling movement, breathable materials and reliable weather protection are important. This is exactly what we develop our models for - tailored to the special needs of growing children's feet.
